Everything You Need to Know About the Giant Panda:  This site is best viewed with Shockwave Flash plug-in.  A fabulously educational site.

North American Bear Centre; A great source for information on the American Bears. A Kid's Page is also here

Polar Bears: Live Video Cam: Polar Bears Live from the Toledo Zoo.

Polar Bear Web Fan Club:  "As far as we know, this is the only Polar Bear Fan Club currently on the internet, so come in and have a look around. There are many photos to look at, and this is also the home of the Polar Bear Mailing List. There are some Polar Bear jokes which may make you chuckle, and links to other Polar Bear sites on the net"

Polar Bear and the Walrus - two animals native to Alaska. This site has pictures, descriptions, and some activities to try at home.

Walking With Giants;  The Grizzlies of Siberia: This site from PBS;  “What happens when a pair of naturalists move in to a remote cabin in the Siberian wilderness? They end up raising three orphaned bear cubs, of course!”

 

Birds:

African Bird Club Established to promote conservation of birdlife in Africa. Bulletins with information about various African birds.

- encourages conservation of birds and their habitats by developing and disseminating information, and promoting economic and environmental values of birding.

Birding Database - offers a program to help maintain bird watching records, species lists, bird songs, and photos.  This is a commercial site; however, I thought it was worth mentioning here.

Birds Australia - presents information about watching, studying, and helping native birds.

Birdwatching.Com - About Wild Birds and Birding.  This has a great software program for listing you’re sightings call Bird Brain 5.0

Guatemalan Birding Resource Center dedicated to promoting bird watching and conservation through birding tours and support of local conservation efforts.

Hong Kong Bird Watching Society - activities, news, gallery, and more.

National Audubon Society:

Neotropical Bird Club - aims to foster an interest in the birds of the Neotropics (Central America, South America and its associated islands and the Caribbean) and their conservation.

Oriental Bird Club encourages an interest in the birds of the oriental region and their conservation

Parrot LineEducational Site for parrot lovers around the world and it is also houses the “Parrot Line” which was formed as a 24-hour advisory service in 1994/5. It is now the largest parrot rescue charity in the United Kingdom.

The Big Cats:

Christina's Big Cats of the World - “Welcome to my world of Big Cats, and also the smaller ones!  Here you will find information on all species of wild cat, with pictures and even some sounds.”

The Cheetah Spot - Great site for information; includes movie, cheetah sounds, photographs and much more.

Tiger Universe:  A great site, but, it is presently under construction and a bit muddled (August 19, 2001)

Wild Cat Conservation and Exotic Cat Rescue Organizations:  An excellent links page for the Big Cats by

World Lynx Home Page:  “These pages are dedicated to the Lynx. The only wild feline that still spans the breadth of both Old and New Worlds in the northern hemisphere.”

 

Elephants:

Elephant Information Repository - Information, links, news, conservation, multimedia, and concern for elephants.  Don’t miss this site if its elephants you want to learn about.  It just packed full of information and even multi media sites to visit.
